Bird Box IV – Burial
A dead humming bird’s remains embedded in nest material, wishbones, & the image of an ancient fardo, or mummy bundle, recently discovered at Cerillios, Peru. Thought to be 1,400 years old, she was found in a fetal position and wrapped in textiles decorated with parrot feathers. Thought to be a “feathered sky goddess”, her burial, along with the grasses, herbs, maize, peanuts, gourds, cotton, beans, cocoa that were bundled with her, were an offering. Recording: wordless vocalization alongside a waterfall.
